THE NCFC BOOTH |
| THE UNIVERSE IS IN TURMOIL! |
|---|
The glorious interglactic empire of Space Korea is in trouble! Centuries of affordable housing, top-notch education programs, impecable care for communities and residents and a tax system that works are coming to an end!
On the fifteenth of New August 7839 A.S.K., the mining planet Delta XVI was engulfed by an unprecidented time paradox. Space Korea's top time researchers have concluded its destruction was purely accidental, but the public have other ideas and conspiracy theories are rampant among the universe. The people's republic of Centurion IX stage a mass protest against Space Korea's decision not to hold a public inquiry. Deaths are reported to be in their millions.
New November of 7840 A.S.K. brings further evidence to the table suggesting Space Korea have been keeping dangerous secrets. A green spec is spotted on the horizon of Gondala World and the planet loses sixteen days of its year. After leaked documents are obtained by the press, 3939th vice president of Space Korea Spiro T. Agnew II is executed, and the public are informed that Space Korea's long-term and extremely dangerous enemy, Quackers "Fransisco" Duckworth III is still alive and well, despite Space Korea's claims that he was eliminated twenty-four hundred years ago. In the coming years Space Korea's millitary operations are stretched as planets once aligned with cause fight back, citing that the relationship is no longer profitable due to the decline of the Space Korean stock markets, induced by the untrustworthy government. Space Korea are forced outline severe expenditure cuts, and the millitary budget is the hardest hit. Unable to withstand civil unrest and the growing number of terrorists attacks throughout the universe, Space Korea are forced to retreat to their homeworld, abandoning decades of research and technological advancements. Relationships are torn and Space Korea find themselves ill-prepared for their primary objective - to eliminate Quackers. With limited defenses and a lack of support, they are unable to locate the duck and live under constant fear that very soon Quackers will find and destroy Space Korea for good. |
| BUT QUACKERS WANTS A HOLIDAY |
Discovering that he hasn't taken a break in thousands of years, Quackers Fransisco Duckworth III has set his sights on the long fabled "Sunshine Superstar Island". It's the right time of year for a perfect tan, and Sunshine Superstar Island is known for having numerous areas with the same summer/beach theme rather than being diverse and constantly interesting.
But Sunshine Superstar Island has its own problems - the place is a mess! The local populace have taken a neutral stance against Space Korea and Quackers and that isn't good enough! The island is covered in the filth of those who do not pledge a backing to Quackers' cause, and these people must be cleaned up. There'll be no dark clouds of indifference while Quackers is around! |
| AND THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN |
|
He might be able to manipulate time and space but he can't control himself! You, the potentially attractive player must guide our hero through the depths of Sunshine Superstar Island, collecting power stars for an unspecified reason and using the planet as a weapon in the great time war that lies ahead. It'll be a bumpy ride and since all your friends are dead, a lonely one, but SHPDMBGWL4 Sunshine promises to deliever the greatest gameplay experience known to mankind. Seriously, the rest of the stuff at NCFC? Forget about it, this is where it's at.

| "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT" |
|
The Super Hyper Paper Deluxe Mario Bros. Galaxy World Land 4 series is a collection of half hearted titles that both parody the fangaming scene and LIFE. There have been half a dozen games in the series so far, all of which are readily available in this handy dandy compilation. The series follows the adventures of the world famous Super Mario, until of course he is captured by the South Korean government for undisclosed reasons. Mario's friend Quackers Fransisco Duckworth III, whom he met and saved on the planet Nebluar 4, has made it his mission to return the favour and save Mario.
In between times, the South Korean government invested in a space program, became Space Korea, invaded the universe, conquered all physical and virtual matter and harnessed the power of time travel. Experimentation on Nebluar 4 by the Space Cats have left Quackers without feet, but he was surgically attached to a tank and was also given the ability to manipulate the space time continuum at the cost of his own sanity. Quackers now spends his days eternally looking for and destroying Space Korea, though as Space Korea have the ability to travel through time too, they merely keep phasing in a new Space Korea from a different timeline or alternate universe whenever the previous incarnation is destroyed. Likewise, Quackers is also seemingly invincible, and so Space Korea cannot seem to stop him. It is an endless battle that constantly leaves the space time continuum in shatters and effects everyone in the universe, even though nobody can do a thing about it. Except of course the regularly recurring character Black Squirrel, who designs these games, aggrivating the entire cast of characters with useless information or uneccessary changes in gameplay or story for his own personal pleasure. The series is of mixed quality. It started off as a series of joke games, made within a small period of time with very low production values. However, as time has progressed, the quality has improved. It is still produced using outdated clickteam IDEs and relies on very buggy built-in engines that are long past their sell-by date and is certainly not meant to be taken seriously, but it does seem to have a strong fanbase of at least one. Furthermore all the games are connected, regularly sharing data to up completion rates and obtain new endings and levels. You don't get that on Nintendo. |

| SG-1000 AND SC-3000 SYSTEMS |
SHPMDBGWL4 Sunshine™ is compatible with all SKOS® SG-1000™ and SC-3000™ systems. To run make sure the system is switched off and insert the game cartridge in the designated cartridge slot. When the cartridge is firmly in place, turn on the system and the game should boot. Should this not be the case: - Make sure no other cartridge is blocking the path. - Make sure the connectors are clean and try again. If the connectors are visibly dirty purchase a SKOS® Cartridge Cleaner™. - Capacitor C34 has blown and needs replacing. Consult your local SKOS® dealer for advice. It is statistically impossible for any other internal component to fail. C34 has an attitude problem thanks to its poor upbringing. We tried giving it a good soldering but we can do nothing more! - You have failed to realise that SHPDMBGWL4 Sunshine is not available for these systems. Because they're twenty-seven years old. If you live in the 21st, 45th and 69th century however, download the game at the link below. If quizzed about a lack of CNC32.dlls (or similar) consult your local fangaming resource. Windows 9x/ME/XP users, place in C:\Windows\System32. Lucky chaps with Vista or Windows 7, shove them in C:\Windows. If you don't want to be dealing with all that, you can also place those DLLs in the same directory as the game. That should work. Why do old-ish Clickteam applications expect the use of dynamically linked libraries without informing the author in advance? Beats the hell out of me. |

Serious time This booth and all of its contents were created in the latter half of 2010, with the intention of being available for public viewing at NCFC 2010 (last year!). However, this project was cancelled due to real life commitments and broken software. It is unlikely to be continued. Everything on this page, including the following download link has been left in-tact. SHPDMBGWL4 Sunshine is about 60-65% finished. Some areas of the game are inaccessible during normal play, and gameplay may end abruptly due to unfinished stages or whatever. "eng", "ent", "test", "V" etc. The download is large due to high quality music of which I have made no effort to compress. In-game text may be particularly dodgy - I tend to use rough placeholders until the game nears completion (same applies to this booth). There will also be glitches and errors. I don't care if you don't like them. Technically SHPDMBGWL4 Sunshine is not a fangame, so I accept that it may not be entirely appropriate for NCFC. The series has fangaming roots and of course, spends its time referencing other games, but it is not strictly aligned to one particular Nintendo series. But it is built stupidly similar to Super Mario Sunshine, if that counts. Remember kids, SHPDMBGWL4 Sunshine is the result of a younger Black Squirrel - it is not necessarily a reflection of modern Squirrel's views on life or game creation.
